G Wizz Visits Our School

 

We were so lucky to have G Wizz visit our school. He did lots of magic tricks that were actually chemical reactions. Rosa and Ben turned potion turn into black ink!  Other tricks he showed us was how to change the colour of fire! Copper, a ten cent coin, turns it green, iron turned it gold, magnesium turned it silver. It was amazing! He finished off with a gigantic explosion - outside of course. They Are Faster Than Fish!

Room 1 swims four days a week. We are lucky enough to have our own school pool which is heated by a heat pump, so it is always warm.We are trying to improve our breathing, stroke technique, stroke efficiency and stamina. We have all improved a lot and some have been really proud to have swum their first length co-ordinating their breathing and arm action. We have been learning how to swim freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke.

The Awesome Room 1 Class of 2014

Hi we are the new Room 1! We have 29 Year 6 children in our class, 13 boys and 16 girls. This year there are also 10 Year 6 children in Room 7. We have enjoyed our first week at school. In Maths we have looked at statistics, we have learnt about the Treaty of Waitangi and now we are making class rules to help us get along together. We have enjoyed the nice weather and have swum in our pool everyday. We have been gardening at the stream and enjoyed shifting woodchips!
